【“Buyers’ selling pressure” above $87.7K—now that’s interesting】
Glassnode just revealed that a group of investors who bought BTC at the end of 2025 are turning the area around $87,700 into a key resistance level. BTC is up 2.3% in 24 hours and 3.3% over 7 days. It looks like it’s grinding higher, but trading volume is low, so it’s still unclear whether there’s enough buying support to sustain a breakout.
What this comes down to is a group of holders whose positions are now in profit and available to sell. The closer the price gets to their buying range, the more likely potential selling pressure is to cap the upside. Those most affected are momentum chasers, short-term liquidity, and trading venues that make their living off volatility. Does the logic hold up? Yes. Buyers establish a cost basis, and sellers can turn into resistance. But it’s not a ceiling: if volume continues to grow, these holders could just as easily gain confidence and keep holding instead of selling.
The Fear & Greed Index has reached 63. Greed is back, but we’re not euphoric. This kind of uncertainty is exactly what makes people itchy to trade. I saw “there are people waiting to cash out up there” back in 2017. The shakeout hasn’t changed—this time it’s just packaged as on-chain supply.
You say you won’t chase, but your hands are still itching—that’s the muscle memory the market has trained into you. Are you planning to sit back and watch this time, or are you also worried it might really break out?
The above is my personal research and does not constitute investment advice. What Alpha have you spotted? Share it in the comments.
