$IOST The 0.001788 level noted in the previous post: this round has played out. The four-hour high reached 0.001908, but the price couldn’t hold there. In the final hour, it pulled back from 0.001872 to 0.001672; the current price is 0.001671 USDT, about 12.4% below the high. The 24-hour change is +69.64%, the four-hour net gain is +13.41%, and the final hour is down 2.17%.

What has changed is the cost side. The divergence we’ve been tracking over the past few posts was at its most extreme in the previous post, when the funding rate was -1.14%. This round it’s -0.53%, leaving just 46% of that divergence, even as the price pushed up another level. This is the first time across these posts that it has moved toward convergence.

Volume has picked up too: 24-hour trading volume is about 51.3 million USDT, roughly 17% higher than the 43.94 million in the previous post—the highest across these posts. There’s volume and a new high, but the price still couldn’t stay up there.

The part that still doesn’t line up is the perpetual market: the mark price, at 0.0015199, is about 9% below spot.

To tell whether this round is just catching its breath or running out of steam, watch whether it can reclaim 0.001908. A close below 0.001457, the four-hour low, would erase the entire move up from 0.001477. The next funding-rate settlement is at 05:00 Taipei time. If the reading continues to converge toward zero, that would be a real easing on the cost side; if it goes further into negative territory, this round’s convergence will have been only temporary.

After a day-long gain of nearly 70%, with the four-hour high-low range exceeding 30%, moves in either direction can come quickly. It hit the high and then retreated, turning red in the final stretch. Whether that’s a mid-run breather or a sign that it’s running out of steam is still unclear.
