🛡️ HOW AND WHEN TO MOVE YOUR STOP-LOSS TO BREAK-EVEN

Many people know they should set a Stop-Loss. But what should you do when the price moves in your favor? Leave your risk unchanged or protect your profit?

Let’s look at the strategy of moving a position to break-even.

🔒 1. What does moving to break-even mean?
When the market moves a certain distance in your favor (for example, +2% or +3%), you move your original Stop-Loss exactly to the trade’s entry price (entry price plus the exchange fee).

Result: Your trade is now “risk-free.” Even if there’s a sharp reversal, you won’t lose anything.

⚠️ 2. Traders’ most common mistakes:

Moving it too early: If you move your stop after only a small price move, ordinary market noise (volatility) may knock you out of the position.

Increasing your risk (the worst mistake): Remember the golden rule — never move your Stop-Loss in a direction that increases your potential loss, trying to “wait out” a drawdown.

💡 Tip:
Move your stop to break-even only when the price has convincingly broken through a local level or formed a new impulse in favor of your position.
