I came across the story about Solana treasury company SkyAI in the middle of the night and couldn’t help laughing.

On September 14, it reiterated its “unwavering commitment to its SOL treasury strategy.” Four days later, after its shareholder meeting, it confirmed on October 19 that it had completely liquidated more than 2 million $SOL , leaving $220 million in cash on its books. Bastion, a major shareholder with nearly a 10% stake, issued a statement blasting the company: You couldn’t even give us a heads-up before selling the coins?

This is a perfect cautionary tale for the DAT model that’s been all the rage this past year. In theory, you keep buying coins at a discount to bring the premium back. In practice, you buy at the top, then dump the coins to save yourself once the price falls below net asset value. The biggest fear for $SOL holders isn’t a market-wide downturn—it’s insiders getting out first.

There’s something else to watch during tonight’s U.S. session: WTI crude has hit $100. Iran talks have made no progress, and there are incidents in the Strait of Hormuz every day. With oil prices rising this fast, inflation expectations are picking up. $BTC is likely to follow macro trends in the short term, so don’t rush to buy the dip.

There’s some good news, too: the GENIUS Act’s federal framework for stablecoins is now officially in place, one of the few certainties in a chaotic market.

Take the DAT narrative with a grain of salt; on-chain addresses are more honest than announcements.
