ETF flows are a different story every day. The day before yesterday (10/19), U.S. spot BTC ETFs raked in $26.6 million in a single day, their biggest haul since September 22. Yesterday, they shrank to a net inflow of just $3.2 million—not even a fraction of the previous day’s figure. IBIT took in $9.9 million, FBTC added $600,000, while BITB was the only fund to see outflows, losing $300,000.
Even worse was Ethereum: spot ETH ETFs saw $6.1 million in net outflows yesterday, marking their fifth consecutive day of losses. BlackRock’s ETHA alone shed $3 million. Only Fidelity’s FETH (+$630,000) and Grayscale’s Mini ETH (+$250,000) went the other way and bought in.
BTC is still hanging in there, with net inflows for a second straight day. BTC ETFs have $6.28 billion in total assets, equal to 6.38% of BTC’s market cap, and $7.43 billion in cumulative net inflows. ETH ETFs have $4.98 billion in total assets and $2.81 billion in cumulative net inflows. ETH is now facing ETF selling and a gap in ETF buying, with the market itself left to hold things up.
