I just opened my trade history, and my finger froze on the screen for three seconds—tonight’s stop-loss was one I manually cut myself.

Live trading journal, day 51. ₿ BTC 84,499, 24h +1.8%, 4h leaning bullish; Ξ ETH 2,502, +1.7%; XAUT 4,128, -0.2%. The broader market was clearly rising, but I got ground down on XAUT all day: this morning, I saw a breakout signal and got itchy, so I manually added half a position. But then it just went sideways and did nothing. I held on until evening, admitted defeat, and closed it for a 420U loss. Ten minutes after I cut it, it was still right where it was.

The most painful part isn’t losing money. It’s that this trade shouldn’t have happened in the first place. My system said “wait and see”; I was the one thinking, “Gold has to catch up at some point, right?”

Honestly, I just saw that trending story—Korean retail investors lost 6.3 trillion won on leveraged ETPs. I really understand how they must feel tonight, except my version is a hundred times smaller. They lost trillions; I lost this month’s phone bill plus rent, but the pain is the same.

Anyway, I wrote three things in my journal during the review: don’t touch positions when the system hasn’t given a signal; manual trades must have a stop-loss; don’t add to positions on a day you lose money.

Honestly, I know this post won’t gain followers, and nobody likes seeing someone lose money. But I want to leave a record: day 51, I’m still here.

What was your most recent stop-loss? How about dropping the number in the comments? I’ll reply to each of you—we can keep an eye on each other.
