BTC breaks $84,000 — and this time it’s breaking on real money, not leverage.
The price is hovering around $84,718, with a 24-hour high of $84,726. Around the breakout, net spot buying was nearly 400 BTC (about $32 million). Funding rates remain neutral at +0.002%, while open interest rose only about 1% during the hour — buyers aren’t crowded in; this breakout is being led by spot flows. There’s already support in place: U.S. spot ETFs just recorded net inflows of $526.6 million in a single day.
My view: this is a genuine breakout, and I’m sticking with the bullish scenario. A 4-hour candle closing above $84,352 would confirm the rally, with the next target zone at $85,700–$86,500. If the price slips back below $83,500 over the next few hours, the bullish scenario is invalidated — in that case, I’d consider this breakout just a liquidity sweep.
