Nasdaq and BTC: there’s something going on with their correlation today
Let’s run through the US market numbers first, then decide whether crypto is following along.
These macro figures are current prices, not a recap:
S&P 500 7,728 (5-day +0.12%, Yahoo)
Nasdaq 26,597 (5-day -0.36%, Yahoo)
Crude oil 97.08 (5-day -4.27%, Yahoo)
So: the Nasdaq is down 0.36% over 5 days, lagging the S&P 500’s +0.12%. Growth stocks are falling behind. Chasing AI coins right now means taking on beta that US stocks have already started dumping.
Crypto: BTC 83738 (+1.69%), funding rate 0.0100% (8h, Binance USDⓈ-M). ETH at +2.12% is outperforming BTC at +1.69%, with an ETH/BTC ratio of 0.0295. This looks more like risk appetite spilling over than BTC moving on its own.
Next, watch whether the 10-year yield can stabilize. If yields keep rising, I’ll treat rallies in both growth stocks and BTC as retracements.
My position: I only buy pullbacks; I don’t chase breakouts. If the structure holds, I can keep a core position, but I’ll only add at pullback levels.
Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. Missing figures are left blank.
When memes aren’t outperforming BTC, are you still holding them?

Useful tip: Track large ETF net inflows over consecutive days; treat a one-day spike as noise.
Idea: The dollar has strengthened over 5 days, but BTC is still rising—treat it as an independent move, and discount its staying power.

For context: people are discussing “bitcoin OR stock market OR US stocks - Google News.” I’m using that only as background; the conclusion is still based on the figures in the main post.
Personal opinion; figures are from the sources listed in the main post. This is not a trading instruction.
