【TRON NEWS|October 16】
🎓 TRON Academy partners with blockchain societies at the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford!
On October 16, TRON DAO held the niTROn Blockchain Workshop in collaboration with the Cambridge Blockchain Society and the Oxford Blockchain Society.
The workshop introduced the TRON network and practical examples of USDT, as well as the role stablecoins play in real-world finance, including cross-border remittances, payments, and corporate treasury management.
It also featured the “Justin Sun Prize,” which supports scientific research using mathematics, formal verification, and AI.

📌 What I personally found noteworthy
This initiative is more than just a promotional event at a university.
Building connections with university blockchain communities could help cultivate future developers and inspire students to create Web3 projects.

For blockchain to be recognized not only as a speculative asset but also as real-world financial infrastructure, greater understanding of the technology and a growing body of practical use cases are essential.
🔮 Outlook
If these university partnerships continue, more developers and researchers may take an interest in the TRON ecosystem, potentially leading to new applications and use cases.
However, this workshop alone does not guarantee an increase in developers or wider adoption.
Going forward, I’ll be watching to see whether it leads to university-born projects, tangible development outcomes, and the launch of services on TRON.
TRON’s growth cannot be measured solely by transaction counts or TVL.
I believe the ecosystem’s long-term competitiveness will also depend on how effectively it builds connections with the next generation of developers and researchers.
