$SOL’s six-hour trading volume rose 29% and the buy share climbed to 52%, as spot-market absorption recovered during the Alpenglow transition window.

According to the official design, this upgrade changes how validators confirm transactions as irreversible: voting shifts from on-chain transactions to direct exchanges of certificates, with a target time to finality of about 150 milliseconds. The block space previously occupied by votes is freed up, increasing the space available to transaction applications.

Once voting moves off-chain, total TPS will mechanically decline. Settlement capacity should instead be compared using non-vote transactions, time to finality, and failure rates.

As of 21:00 Hong Kong time, Binance’s full six-hour spot trading volume was 39.36 million USDT, up from 30.43 million in the previous window. The price shifted from a 0.58% decline to a 0.95% gain, while the share of aggressive buying rose from 50.4% to 52.0%. Over the same period, SUI gained 1.20% and AVAX rose 0.54%; SOL’s trading volume was larger, and its gain fell between the two. If the buy share drops below half again over the next six hours, the evidence for a recovery in buying support will weaken.

Those with positions on both the on-chain and exchange sides can reconcile settled balances separately from available exchange margin, adjust positions based on the amount actually credited, and align hedging exposure. Even as on-chain confirmations speed up, exchange deposits are still processed under each exchange’s own rules. The mismatch in available funds between the two sides is a risk that needs to be managed during the transition window.
