【If NEAR suddenly drops back to $4, don’t rush to curse: who’s buying the dip? The blockchain will leave clues】

NEAR is now at $5.22, up 10.7% in 24 hours and just 2.5% over 7 days, but up a cumulative 24.9% over 30 days. Trading volume is more than 5% of its market cap. That’s no exaggeration—the short-term momentum is real, but a surge in volume never means all the money is here for the long term.

I’m more interested in three on-chain signals: Are large holders continuing to distribute their holdings, or is there concentrated accumulation? Are net flows to exchanges shifting from inflows to outflows? Are active addresses increasing at the same time? If the price rises but active addresses don’t budge, it looks more like existing holders are lifting one another up. If the rally is also accompanied by coins flowing onto exchanges, short-term overcrowding may be building. Conversely, rising outflows alongside increased activity would suggest that demand is spreading into real-world use cases.

In practical terms, this determines who will be affected: Will holders who bought at lower prices start to gain liquidity, or will those chasing the rally end up holding the bag for someone else? Will the project team and ecosystem participants gain users and revenue, or just a pretty candlestick chart? Business fundamentals can’t be patched over with sentiment—user behavior and capital flows have to line up.

I wouldn’t dare say for sure what happens in the medium term. I’ve seen this playbook before in 2017: the way they fleece you hasn’t changed, only the packaging. On-chain data doesn’t lie. What do you think? Are you getting itchy trigger fingers this time around?
