Exchanges are offering market makers substantial incentives, signaling that the competition for on-chain capital is heating up across the board.

According to Cointelegraph, PancakeSwap has opened a governance vote. The proposal would increase LPs’ share of V3 fees to 88% and slash daily CAKE emissions by 69% to 7,000 tokens. DeFiLlama data shows its TVL rose 19% in a week to $2.4 billion.

This has a direct impact on CAKE’s supply and demand. Binance Spot shows CAKE trading at $2.25. The sharp emission cut could ease selling pressure, but incentives for market makers could also reduce buybacks. Going forward, watch whether the new rules in November can keep V3 pool liquidity above $700 million after the October 24 vote.
