I checked the positions table twice. One line doesn’t add up.
Left side, the headcount: retail traders 64.4%, whales 69.4%—both leaning long.
Over six hourly candles, both sides added to their positions. Not one reduced.
Right side, the price: this morning’s wick touched 82.348 and never came back.
Three four-hour candles, each peak lower than the last.
Headcount is rising; price is falling. In trading slang, they’re lifting the bags.
“Being long means it has to go up” doesn’t hold today.
Funding rate: -0.0008%—basically zero. Nobody’s lining up to pay overnight fees.
Those who wanted to buy already did. The rest are waiting for someone to lift the price.
Right now, $HYPE 81.444: 1.1% upside, 1.5% downside.
A 1-to-0.75 payoff? I’m not taking that trade.
Either it takes out 82.348, or it goes back and gives up that bounce.
