Elon Musk just confirmed it: SpaceX and Tesla are exploring a merger that would put 30,221 $BTC on one corporate balance sheet.
On SpaceX's Q3 earnings call Tuesday, Musk said both formed special committees of independent directors to assess a deal. The stash: SpaceX's 18,712 BTC plus Tesla's 11,509 BTC, per June 30 filings — roughly $2.5 billion at today's price.
No terms are agreed, and Musk can't join the talks — he's conflicted. On Tesla's side a deal needs 50% of ALL shares, not just votes cast. Musk warned against treating it as certain: people assuming it happens are "overstating it."
