$IOST hit my stop-loss, then surged 58%
Last night I wrote about IOST: only consider it if it holds after a pullback to 0.00104–0.00106; if it breaks below 0.00099, the setup is invalidated. Targets: 0.001129 and 0.001189.
What happened: the 1-hour candle at 8 a.m. Beijing time today plunged straight from 0.001052 to 0.000973. It failed to hold the range and broke below 0.00099, so by the plan, that was a stop-loss.
Then it reversed from 0.000973 and rallied to 0.001541, surpassing both targets. Too bad I was already out.
As for AERO: it didn’t break 0.894, but it did fall below 0.85. It’s now at 0.8425, and hasn’t reached 0.80 yet.
In hindsight: for a coin that’s up 40% in a day, a stop-loss only 5% away is too tight. Next time, I’ll allow more room for volatile coins and use a smaller position.
Which worries you more: getting stopped out or missing the move?
