HouseOfStake’s inflation proposal opens

The @NEARProtocol inflation proposal opened for voting today. It takes a gradual approach, transitioning inflation from the original 2.5% to 1.6% over a 24-month period.

I have to say, NEAR’s proposal is pretty well written, with arguments and evidence, charts and data.

The proposal was also put forward by @svrn_ai, a company that recently acquired @fast_near and is deeply involved in the Near ecosystem.

🤔 From what I can see, the proposal has already met the threshold. By the way, the proposal is no longer being voted on by validator nodes. Instead, veNear users who have staked on the House of Stake platform are voting. This is also a new change to staking protocol governance.

Voting ends on 11/2. After that, it’ll be up to the five-member Security Court to decide. Personally, I don’t think there’s any need to approve it right now; it wouldn’t make much difference. The proposal also mentions that, to offset the drop in node stakers’ earnings, the price would need to rise by $NEAR . The increase in price wouldn’t be much, but who knows what the market will do?
