My approach is: before tackling a new concept, make sure I understand the basics.
Both USDT-margined and coin-margined markets offer perpetual contracts, as well as quarterly delivery contracts, and the trading pairs listed are not exactly the same.
Using BTC as collateral to open a coin-margined long position means your collateral also fluctuates with the price of the coin: when the price falls, the contract incurs a loss, while the USD value of your collateral shrinks at the same time.
Take $BTC , for example: BTCUSDT calculates profit and loss in USDT, while the coin-margined BTCUSD contract calculates it in BTC. The current price is 83248.03.
What would you like to hear about next? Contracts, or something else?
