The Venezuela Fintech Forum 2026 will take place on November 28 at the Eurobuilding in Caracas. It will be open to the public, with an agenda covering banking, fintech, and stablecoins.
The essentials
The Venezuela Fintech Forum 2026 will be held on November 28 at the Eurobuilding Hotel in Caracas; it was originally scheduled for August.
Rescheduling turned an invitation-only event into a gathering open to the public.
The forum will partner with the Children’s Orthopedic Hospital in support of its charitable work.
The agenda includes banking, fintech, institutional adoption of digital assets, and stablecoins.
The Venezuela Fintech Forum 2026 will take place on November 28 at the Eurobuilding Hotel in Caracas, after its leadership team decided to pause and rethink the original date, which had been scheduled for August. The event, which began as an invitation-only gathering, will now be open to the public.
The rescheduling, prompted by the seismic situation Venezuela was experiencing, also created an opportunity to broaden the event’s reach and add a charitable initiative with the Children’s Orthopedic Hospital.
María Elena Machado, a member of the event’s leadership team, explained that the decision was shaped by concern over events in the country and the need to prioritize the team before resuming planning.
“As a leadership team, our priority has been and will continue to be Venezuela. We were deeply affected by the scale of what happened, and our first concern was to find out how our team was doing and how we could help,” she said.
The decision to move the forum to November also followed an assessment of the fintech sector’s regional calendar. In coordination with the Ibero-American Fintech Alliance, the organization sought a date that would keep the event within the regional calendar without overlapping with other industry activities.
“We found the right opening, and the Venezuela Fintech Forum 2026 will close out this year’s regional calendar,” Machado said. She noted that cooperation among the organizers of these events is important for strengthening the ecosystem and creating opportunities for participants.
A pause that changed the purpose of the forum
Beyond the change of date, the additional preparation time led the team to reconsider the event’s scope. For Machado, the experience was a learning opportunity that went beyond logistical planning and extended to managing teams in difficult circumstances.
“It taught us a great deal, especially at the management level: how to manage collective grief, make decisions in difficult circumstances, and understand that planning also means being empathetic, managing change, and knowing when to reschedule,” she said.
One of the most significant changes was opening to the public an event that had initially been designed as invitation-only. This was accompanied by a partnership with the Children’s Orthopedic Hospital, through which the organization hopes the forum will deliver tangible benefits beyond business connections and conversations about technology.
“This time allowed us to give the Venezuela Fintech Forum 2026 an even greater purpose. It was initially an invitation-only event; we decided to open it to the public and add a partnership with the Children’s Orthopedic Hospital, turning our vision into a contribution to those who need it most,” she explained.
The social initiative will also be one of the indicators the organization uses to assess the results of this edition. For María Elena Machado, success will not depend solely on attendance, but also on the relationships formed and the ability to rally support for the institution.
“One indicator would be especially meaningful: how many children we can help, which areas of the Children’s Orthopedic Hospital we can improve, and above all, how many companies and individuals we can bring on board as the institution’s long-term partners,” she emphasized.
She added: “If we can make the impact of the Venezuela Fintech Forum 2026 extend beyond the day of the event, we’ll know it was worth it.”
Banking, fintech, and digital assets on the agenda
With its new date, the event will retain its goal of promoting collaboration between traditional banks, financial startups, and technology companies. The challenges the industry needs to address include interoperability, integration with global markets, and developing a regulatory framework that supports innovation.
“Rather than a pain point, I think there is a need to keep building solutions together that will enable Venezuelan fintech companies to grow and scale sustainably,” María Elena said.
The agenda will also address the institutional adoption of digital assets and stablecoins, an area in which she believes it is essential to move beyond discussions focused solely on individual wallets.
“In Venezuela, although digital assets have served as a store of value, scaling them as a means of payment necessarily requires creating industry standards, robust governance frameworks, and spaces for constructive dialogue that build trust among both the private sector and regulators,” she said.
Integration with the banking sector will be another key theme of the forum. María Elena Machado noted that some Venezuelan financial institutions are already involved in developing digital payment solutions, alternative financing, and cross-border operations.
“There is currently a great deal of openness in Venezuelan banking,” she said. In her view, greater willingness on the part of the regulator to support these processes could accelerate the transformation of the financial system in the coming years.
Artificial intelligence (AI) will also play an important role in this evolution, particularly through its applications in fraud prevention, regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, and technological development.
In her view, fintech companies retain advantages in their ability to attract customers quickly, provide digital onboarding, and develop new financial solutions.
Announcements for 2027 and a message for entrepreneurs
November 28 will also be the occasion to present B2B integration solutions connecting traditional banks with technology startups, formalize strategic alliances with regional reach, and reveal the initial scope of the collaboration with the Children’s Orthopedic Hospital.
The organization did not disclose any names or further details, but confirmed that the announcements will be tied to the industry’s priorities for 2027.
María Elena Machado took the opportunity to recognize the entrepreneurs who continue to develop solutions in Venezuela despite challenges related to infrastructure, connectivity, and the availability of specialized talent.
“It is their perseverance and business vision that have made it possible to create real solutions in an extremely complex environment,” she said.
She urged them to keep building and make the most of networking opportunities to establish partnerships that can help them grow.
“Don’t wait for the perfect ecosystem; join us at the Venezuela Fintech Forum, because it is precisely in these spaces for connection that you can find your next business partner, ally, or key to scaling your solution to the next level,” she said.
The organization hopes the November 28 forum will show that collaboration between companies, entrepreneurs, and financial institutions can drive solutions for the country while also generating a lasting social impact.
The rescheduling became more than just a calendar change: it was an opportunity to broaden the invitation and redefine the scope of the event. As Machado summed up the vision for this edition: “Technology, banking, and national talent are coming together to drive the country’s technological and financial future.”
