Dragonfly partner Haseeb Qureshi denied allegations that Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan used company funds for a private jet and other expenses. He also denied reports that Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund had uncovered the matter.
In a post on X, Qureshi said Dragonfly was one of Polymarket’s largest investors from its early days. According to him, Coplan was not drawing a salary at the time and had publicly disclosed all expenses, which totaled the equivalent of one year’s salary for a software engineer.
Qureshi affirmed that none of the flights were for personal purposes. He said Coplan proactively initiated the process of accounting for and repaying the expenses, and that all related costs were reimbursed to the company. Coplan then began receiving a regular salary. Qureshi described this as an accounting issue, not an integrity issue.
