Question: What is address poisoning, and why does it fool people?
My answer: Checking only the beginning and end of an address won’t protect you from address poisoning, because it doesn’t cost much to generate an address with the same first and last few characters. Once an on-chain transfer is confirmed, it can’t be reversed, and assets sent to a similar-looking address usually can’t be recovered.
