Six organizations have jointly sent a letter to the SEC—this just came out. Wu Blockchain and PANews both reported it: Stellar, Hedera, Aptos, Ava Labs, the Cardano Foundation, and Chainlink Labs have joined forces to ask the SEC to clarify the definition of digital commodities.
PANews quoted Chainlink’s Taylor Barr as putting it more bluntly: he hopes the SEC will formally write the digital commodity framework into its rules. The related list includes $ADA , $APT , and LINK. $BTC is now at 83,209, up 1.77% in 24 hours. The market is in the green, but for now I’m treating this as a statement of intent and will wait to see whether the SEC takes any further action.
Will this joint letter just be a placeholder, or will it lead to actual provisions in future rules?
