【Chief Commander Live Trading Log · Morning Post | 10.21】Recovery continues; only a sustained hold above 83,100 counts as strength
Spot price update: BTC 82,983 (24h +1.34%); ETH 2,447 (+1.73%); ETH/BTC 0.02950. ETH is showing slight relative strength, but has yet to establish market leadership.
Overnight U.S. session recap: U.S. stocks were led by the Dow, up +1.02%; the S&P 500 gained +0.28%, while the Nasdaq closed flat at -0.02%. Capital rotated toward value stocks, while tech lagged. Crypto strengthened in tandem: after breaking below 81,600 and dipping to 81,200 during yesterday’s European session, prices climbed in stages from 21:30 in the U.S. session. At 22:00, a surge in volume pushed BTC to 83,439, a new rebound high. It retested 82,100–82,200 in the early hours and held, then climbed back above 83,000 in the Asian morning. ETH also surged to 2,478 and consolidated above 2,425. The pullback reduction zones shared in last night’s quick update—82,100–82,200 for BTC and 2,410–2,425 for ETH—both held, playing out as expected.
Market assessment: the recovery is continuing, but this is not yet a reversal. There is only one threshold for confirming a reversal: hold above 83,100–83,200 and break through 83,440 on increased volume. Only then should we upgrade to a trend-following plan; until then, trade strictly within the range.
Overall plan for today: sell rallies and buy dips in the new 82,100–83,400 range. If BTC holds above 83,100, look to 83,440; a break above 83,440 opens the way to 84,000. Reduce positions if it falls below 82,100; exit and protect capital if it breaks below 81,800. Keep positions light to moderate; don’t go all-in ahead of events.
$BTC
Key levels: resistance 83,100–83,200→83,440→84,000; support
82,800→82,400–82,500→82,100–82,200→81,800.
$ETH
Key levels: resistance 2,465–2,478→2,500→2,550; support 2,425–2,432→2,410→2,380. ETH/BTC 0.0295; prioritize reducing positions on weak rebounds.
Event calendar: U.S. market open at 21:30 tonight—watch the Dow/Nasdaq’s direction; after the close (early Thursday morning Beijing time), Tesla and Meta report earnings—beware of volatility spilling over; FOMC rate decision on 10-28. In a week packed with events, position discipline matters more than directional calls.
Three hard rules:
1. This is solely a personal live-trading record, not investment advice; you are responsible for your own gains and losses. 2. Every trade must have a hard stop-loss. 3. Never hold and hope—stay in the game to fight another day. Motto: Don’t chase rebounds, don’t cling to broken levels, put discipline first.
