# Daily Market Briefing 2026-10-21 (Final, for the 08:30 edition)

📅 October 21 | Daily Market Briefing

$BTC is currently at $83,042 (+1.16%), with a 24h range of $81,200–$83,439. Yesterday during the day, $125 million in short positions were liquidated in an hour as the price touched $83,439, then it was rejected at the 21-day moving average of $83,230 and pulled back. For now, bulls are making a last stand at the 50-day moving average of $81,570.
Ethereum is at $2,458 (+2.09%), Binance Coin at $739 (+1.51%), while XRP is still struggling below $1.30. Bitcoin dominance is 60.1%—it’s still Bitcoin’s market.

Spot Bitcoin ETFs saw net inflows of $527 million on Monday (after $82 million in outflows last Friday), bringing cumulative net inflows to $57.4 billion and assets under management to $105 billion. Institutional dip-buyers are back.
But the money only has eyes for $BTC : $ETH ETF saw $103 million in net outflows that same day, marking its fourth consecutive day of outflows. Since September 29, Ethereum ETFs have had net inflows on just one day.

1️⃣ With the Fed’s October 28 rate decision approaching and September CPI confirming that inflation remains stubbornly high, markets are constantly repricing expectations—every market candle this week is for the Fed;
2️⃣ $BTC has fallen for three straight weeks and is down 2.2% so far in October, while historically October averages a gain of 18.34%—the “October effect” hasn’t shown up this year;
3️⃣ Top gainers: Humanity Protocol (+17.5%), Dash (+8.3%), and Internet Computer (+7.05%). Pi is nearing its all-time low of $0.0704, while social buzz has fallen to a six-month low.

Inflows are back, but they’re only going to $BTC . Unless price gets above the 21-day moving average at $83,230, this is a false breakout—don’t chase above $80,000; the plan to buy in batches between $76,000 and $80,000 remains unchanged.
