BTC spot: let’s talk pullbacks and breakouts
Scaling in is discipline, not an excuse to buy more as the price keeps falling.
Spot trading isn’t about gut feel; it’s about today’s range.
BTC 82,700 (+0.74%), 24h range 81,200–83,439. ETH 2,446 (+1.65%), ETH/BTC 0.02957.
ETH is up 1.65%, outperforming BTC at +0.74%, with the exchange rate at 0.02957. This looks like risk appetite spilling over—not BTC acting alone.
Limit orders:
- First level: 81,708–82,204; buy only one-third of the intended amount
- If 81,212 breaks, stop; don’t add at the second level
- If price gets above 83,362, reassess for a breakout entry; even then, add only one tranche
For spot, I’m only waiting for pullback levels—not trying to predict US stocks. We can talk about a breakout entry once price is above 83,439; until then, leave the limit orders as they are.
Data: Binance spot 24h / Binance USDⓈ-M / Yahoo daily (5-day change) / altme_fng / mempool_fees / defillama_chains / coingecko_trending. Missing figures are left blank.
Would you place orders at the pullback levels, or wait for the candle to close?

Useful note: On FOMC night, market depth tends to pull back first, so breakout orders can easily turn into slippage orders.
Thought: If funding turns positive and the long/short ratio is >1.15, note that the market is crowded first—don’t write about chasing the rally.
