Will Visa let you pay directly with crypto?
In the latest news, Visa has partnered with Mesh, allowing users to spend cryptocurrency and stablecoins directly from their wallet apps at 175 million merchants worldwide, while merchants still receive regular Visa payments. MoneyGram and Mastercard are also rolling out stablecoin payments. Stablecoin card spending reached $3.9 billion in the first nine months of this year.
Payment-related stocks are also relatively strong today: $XRP is at 1.33, up 2.3% over 24 hours; $SOL is up 2.6% to 106.7. My take: real-world adoption matters more than hype, but Visa hasn't announced a launch date, so don't read too much into it in the short term. Would you use crypto to buy a coffee?
