Tokenized stock trading is meeting direct resistance from issuers. OKXICE, the planned venue jointly owned by #OKX and Intercontinental Exchange, now lists 16 companies that object to third-party tokenized versions of their shares being traded on the platform. The seven additions are Microsoft, Alphabet, Goldman Sachs, Qualcomm, Caterpillar, McDonald’s and Western Digital.

The October 19 public notice does not explain the companies’ reasons. Under the SEC’s September innovation exemption, a timely objection prevents a venue from listing that issuer’s third-party stock tokens. OKXICE proposes one-for-one share backing, permissioned trading pools on XLayer and stablecoin pairs including $USDC and $USDT .

This matters for RWA infrastructure because issuer objections can determine which traditional equities actually become available onchain. It does not mean these companies have rejected every form of tokenization.
