If you already have a long position and place a sell order, will it close your position or open a short position?
My understanding: Hedge mode is often used when you want to hold long and short positions simultaneously—for example, holding a long position for the long term while opening a short position in the short term to hedge against a pullback.
In One-Way Mode, each trading pair can only have a position in one direction at a time. If you hold a long position and place a sell order, it will first close the long position.
What I do: In Hedge Mode, to close a long position, click “Close Long.” If you accidentally click “Open Short,” it will open a separate short position, and your original long position will remain open.
