From criticism to the throne
#JPMorgan predicts that #bitcoin will outperform stocks, bonds, and gold over the next decade
10-year historical projection
In its report "Long-Term Capital Market Assumptions for 2027," JPMorgan forecasts an annualized return of 10% for #BTC in its base-case scenario (with a range from a pessimistic 9.7% to an optimistic 17%).
Outperforms traditional assets: This projected return surpasses the bank’s estimates for large-cap stocks (7.5%), small-cap stocks (7.7%), U.S. bonds (5.6%–6.6%), and gold (5.5%). Notably, this is the first time the firm has established a formal range for Bitcoin in these analyses.
The weight of the past and institutional caution: Despite the favorable figures, the bank maintains a skeptical stance inherited from the views of its CEO, #JamieDimon (who once called Bitcoin a "fraud"). Today, the tone is softer but still reserved.
Safe-haven asset or speculation?: JPMorgan strategists clarify that Bitcoin is not a portfolio diversifier, but a speculative asset and a hedge against monetary easing. It behaves as a high-risk beta asset tied to the global money supply, rather than to traditional cash flows.
Ongoing obstacles: The bank notes that volatility, unstable correlations, and heavy dependence on regulation and technological adoption continue to hinder its widespread integration into traditional institutional portfolios.
