A major storm is brewing for OKXICE! Microsoft, Alphabet, Goldman Sachs, and a slew of other blue-chip companies are ALL OPPOSED to tokenizing stocks on the platform.

A total of 16 major companies have spoken out, removing 17 stocks from OKXICE’s list of potential offerings. This is a major blow to the ambitions of the joint venture between OKX and Intercontinental Exchange (NYSE’s parent company).

This fierce opposition, particularly from tech and finance giants, shows that regulatory and corporate strategic barriers are standing in the way of the tokenization of traditional assets.

Although the SEC has introduced a temporary regulatory framework, issuers’ veto power is significantly slowing the dream of a 24/7 blockchain stock market. With blue-chip companies turning their backs, the future of “tokenization of everything” for traditional securities is looking increasingly uncertain.

Are these just initial hurdles, or a sign that traditional financial giants don’t really want to play the crypto game?
