Even the small 1-hour rebound remains below the 4-hour pivot. OKX does not list perpetual futures for XAUt itself, so the market structure is spot-led. For reference, OKX gold perpetuals (XAU-USDT) have a funding rate of +0.0134% / 8h and open interest of approx. $194 million, suggesting only a mild long bias. ■ Catalyst On October 20, Reuters and Bloomberg reported that spot gold had fallen to the $4,120–$4,135 range amid a rebound in U.S. yields and higher oil prices. The next focus is the FOMC meeting on October 27–28. ■ Invalidation level If the 4-hour chart recovers $4,166.96 (the 24-hour high), the bearish scenario is off the table. On the downside, the first test is $4,107.94, followed by the 7-day low of $4,076.19. Risk: Gold is a macro asset. A sharp reversal is possible depending on interest-rate expectations ahead of the FOMC, and it also depends on the issuer’s custody and redemption mechanisms. ■ The route perspective This week’s theme is “liquidity routes.” Capital moves through commodity corridors, too, repeatedly getting congested and then clearing.
