Why has CATL’s market value plunged by 800 billion in a year? Is it because of the Chinese government?
“A good company isn’t necessarily a good stock, and a good stock isn’t necessarily a good price.”
CATL’s revenue is still growing, surging 59% year over year. Is that a lot? Is it a good company? But its profits grew by only 15%—and were also down 6%.
So here’s the question: it’s a good company, but is it a good stock?
What exactly went wrong?
1️⃣ China’s new energy vehicle subsidies are gradually being phased out, which happens to coincide with CATL’s decline.
2️⃣ Automakers are looking for third-party alternatives.
More concerningly, a 10% vehicle purchase tax may be imposed later on, which would be a major blow to CATL too 👊
Can you buy CATL now?
A good company, but not a good stock—and not at a good price.
For just $15, you can have your own AI hardware assistant!
A friend brought this AI coding device back from China. I was able to install an app I developed on it, and even use it as my AI control hub (it supports a microphone, display, and buttons).
Even more interesting is the company behind it: FoloToy.
While everyone else is racing to build large models and robots, they started with the most affordable use case. FoloToy initially made AI voice modules that could be installed in ordinary plush toys, letting them chat naturally with children.
Over time, they expanded into AI rabbits, AI cacti, the MagicBox development module, and this AI Passport.
How can I improve my work efficiency? This is something I’ve been thinking about and refining over the years.
In the AI era, I’ve developed a few tools.
1️⃣ The first is my own voice input tool, PunkType.
It makes me more than ten times as efficient as before whenever I communicate with AI.
2️⃣ I also made my own AI software for recording and summarizing personal meetings, PunkMeet.
When I’m discussing something with someone or talking something over with a company, I open it up. After we finish talking, it generates personalized meeting notes based on my preferences. I can also keep chatting with it using AI to make revisions.
The most important thing about this, for me, is that even if it isn’t useful right away, that’s okay—the important thing is that the data has been saved.
With all this structured data, future AI tools will be able to help me generate much richer content. So I don’t think a voice recorder is all that important for me. In fact, it’s kind of a hassle and not very useful, since it’s more cumbersome. A software tool is much more convenient.
Everyone should be a global landlord these days—especially in Tokyo, Japan. If you choose a one-bedroom property with strong demand, you can get an annual yield of 4%, net of all kinds of expenses.
But sadly, all you have to do now is buy U.S. Treasuries to get that kind of return—and you can even buy the 10-year ones 😂
This is your first heavenly tribulation. The content is good, and the depth of thought is there, but you can’t let go of your ego. Put yourself second, and you’ll be able to overcome it.
In my experience, if you can make peace with yourself, you’ll get through it with ease. After that, the road ahead will be smooth.
Traffic is worth its weight in gold. Let me break it down for everyone.
What is “baijiu from Maotai Town”? In traditional industries, nobody will buy your new liquor if you sell it as just another new brand. But say it’s from Maotai Town, and people will believe you have some connection to Maotai, so you can sell your liquor. Whether you’re actually based in Maotai Town or are just using the name doesn’t matter.
Then there are the “new works by Jin Yong” novels we’re all familiar with—same old trick.
But
At its core, entrepreneurship is about whose costs are lower. If my costs are lower, how can you compete with me? So if you can get a huge amount of traffic at low cost, milk it for all it’s worth.
How did Ximalaya succeed? The biggest reason was that it found a loophole in Apple’s App Store ASO and burned through tens of millions of yuan in its competitors’ promotional budgets. How could they possibly compete?
So, there’s nothing wrong with doing business for business’s sake—but I’ll leave the moral judgment aside.
They take advantage of X’s latest notification feature. If they @ you, it’ll show up in your notification center like this, as shown below.
They pretend to be a new Hyper campaign, but if you look closely, you’ll see the address is wrong—it’s not Hyperliquid; it’s Hyperilquid.
They’ve also boosted their own account to 118k followers, got a blue check, follow 0 accounts, and posted thousands of times to make you think they’re a big influencer.
I took a look, and all the people they @ are KOLs 😂
Someone voted for me 408 times, even though I haven't been active on Binance Square. Since that's the case, I'll start posting on Binance Square too. If you're interested, give me a follow!
How do I get started from scratch? Can I send red packets every day? 🧧
I looked into it, and it seems you can only create red packets through Binance's Red Packet page, so I posted the claim code on Binance Square. Go claim it, everyone!
Of course, I'd be incredibly grateful if you could vote for me too 🙏
More red envelopes 🧧 This post of mine has now reached 500,000 views too. Can this 影视飓风 post break 50 million? It’s currently at 44 million views 📖

Media Storm has finally taken this step, following He Tongxue’s lead and filming all its videos in English. He Tongxue has already made an impressive transformation.
Contrary to what you might expect, He Tongxue’s overseas audience has been growing much faster than his domestic one. His English-language channel now has as many as 3.02 million subscribers, and individual videos get over a million views.
You can imagine the commercial value. And the comments are overwhelmingly positive—it feels like overseas viewers haven’t had it this good before.
So how did he pull it off? Simply dubbing the videos didn’t work because the footage looked too awkward, so they reshot the on-camera segments in English. The result is excellent.
But Media Storm had never really gone all in on this—until now, with iPhone Duo. Its English-language channel currently has only 60,000 subscribers, while its Chinese-language channel has over 900,000 (far fewer than He Tongxue’s English-language channel). That shows just how successful He Tongxue’s strategy has been.
At the time, people were discussing how He Tongxue could keep growing, and saying the quality of his videos was declining. Meanwhile, he was quietly building his English-language channel:
- Removed Chinese-language ads from the English videos
- Reshot the on-camera segments, replacing the footage where Chinese was spoken
- Went all in on YouTube Shorts, with lots of videos reaching tens of millions of views
- Earns $20,000–$50,000 a month from video ads alone
People in China aren’t talking about this much yet. But by the time it becomes a big topic, He Tongxue could be sitting at the same table as tech giant MKBHD.

Trump will definitely lose control of either the House or the Senate, because throughout history only Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Carter, and George W. Bush have managed it.
And Trump is clearly not one of them.
Even if he gives every American $5,000.
And when that time comes, it will be time to settle accounts. Trump coin, WLFI, and other issues will all face a final reckoning.
Last year’s returns were 30–40%. Can quant trading still make money this year? I used AI to run through this year’s 356 records. Even in this terrible market, I made an annualized 11% with zero drawdown, and I’m very satisfied【First published on Binance Square】
- Last year was incredible. The results included the money I made on October 11—that day alone was close to 10% 😂. The market was especially good last year, but days like that are becoming fewer and farther between.
- The crypto market has been terrible this year. Even so, I made some money from U.S. stocks in the middle of the year, like SK Hynix and others. Otherwise, relying purely on crypto would’ve been hopeless.
- But U.S. stocks haven’t been doing too well lately either—they’re not even as good as crypto.
- The green dip in the middle was due to profit sharing, not an actual drawdown.
Sharing this as a reference for everyone. I probably won’t get much traffic, but I hope it can be useful to others in the industry.
