The incident report had barely come out, and $PHA was already up more than 20%.

What can be verified: Phala Cloud’s official postmortem on 10/19 says that from 10/8 to 10/12, someone exploited a dstack guest-agent vulnerability to access container logs and environment variables from a small number of customers’ applications. On one host, they also obtained a gateway administrator token and changed that gateway’s certificate management configuration. The report is very clear: TEE keys, KMS, customer disks, and host SSH were not touched—this was a cloud platform incident, not a token contract being drained.

As for the market (Beijing time): Binance spot climbed from around 0.05 to 0.0697, and has now pulled back to around 0.0594. It’s still up about 22.5% over 24 hours, with roughly $13.89 million in trading volume.

The market is reading “the postmortem is out / TEE is fine” as a reason to buy in. I’m more focused on the other side: the postmortem mentions no new token demand, buybacks, or deflationary mechanisms. The fuel looks more like a short squeeze plus momentum. Some of the gains from the high have already evaporated.

My bias is bearish; I’m not chasing the tail end of this “rally on bad news.”
