Contract Trading | What’s an appropriate position size for a futures trade?
A common way to calculate position size: Position notional value ≈ total capital × risk percentage per trade ÷ stop-loss distance.
Keep the risk per trade small enough, and your account will retain sufficient funds even after several consecutive losses. One or two mistakes won’t leave you badly shaken.
