Futures Trading | Isolated and Cross Margin
Definition: In cross margin mode, the liquidation price is generally farther from the current price. However, if liquidation occurs, you lose all the margin in the corresponding asset.
How to think about it: Neither mode is absolutely better. Isolated margin sets a clear limit on losses, while cross margin offers more room to withstand volatility. It depends on how you allocate your funds.
Note: Before placing an order, check the margin mode for that trading pair. Don’t wait until something goes wrong to find out you’re using cross margin.
