According to CNBC, Gartner chief forecaster John Lovelock said Monday that returns from AI are not yet sufficient to support the scale of investment in neocloud computing capacity. Gartner forecast last week that $3.5 trillion in AI investment could be at risk because of profitability concerns and that 80% of neoclouds could cease operating as independent companies by 2030. CoreWeave and Nebius each fell 25% last week, while IREN dropped 16%.
