On May 22, 2010, programmer Laszlo Hanyecz made the first recorded commercial transaction with $BTC : he bought two large pizzas for 10,000 Bitcoins.
At the time, 10,000 $BTC were worth about $41 USD. With Bitcoin trading at over $80,000, those two pizzas would be worth more than $800 MILLION today! This event became known as Bitcoin Pizza Day.
