🚨 An address linked to a BlackRock ETF transferred $143 million to Coinbase Prime in one go—is this a sign of a sell-off or a custody rebalancing?

📌 According to Onchain Lens (October 19):
• 883.001 units of $BTC ≈ $72.64 million
• 28,957 units of $ETH ≈ $70.40 million
• About $143 million in total, transferred to Coinbase Prime

🔍 Let’s look at two things calmly:
1️⃣ The funds were sent to Coinbase Prime, a custody and trading channel for products such as IBIT. There’s currently no evidence that this was a sale; it looks more like a custody rebalancing or a response to redemptions.
2️⃣ But the timing is sensitive: spot ETFs have recently seen net outflows, and BTC has been fluctuating around $82,000. The market is especially sensitive to “institutional moves” right now.

⚠️ My take: A single transfer isn’t a signal. What matters is ETF net inflow/outflow data over the next few days. If large outflows continue alongside further transfers to exchanges, then be cautious; otherwise, don’t let the headlines scare you.

Do you think this is “routine custody activity” or “institutions quietly reducing their positions”? Let’s discuss in the comments 👇
