🚨 $NEWS: $XRP lost its streak — 13 weeks of ETF inflows, cut short by ONE redemption

The full drama: XRP ETFs ended in the red for the first time in 3 months — $1.84M in net outflows for the week ending Oct. 16. The funny part: the entire month’s outflow was due to ONE $2.47M redemption from Canary’s XRPC fund on Friday. Without that withdrawal, the week would have closed in the black (+$630K). One entity decided to leave and stole the headline.

But the real context is broader: BTC, ETH, and SOL saw $575M in outflows across the four ETFs last week — $1.81B over two weeks. Rising Treasury yields and a hawkish Fed are pulling cash out of ETFs and into fixed income. Institutional money isn’t sentimental: when interest rates pay more than risk, it leaves without saying goodbye.

The fine print: XRP’s outflow is 0.1% of the $1.8B accumulated since Nov. 2025 — noise, not a trend. And the spot market is having its own soap opera: last price 1.30 (+3.1% today), with the 1.25 floor seeing $49.7B in on-chain volume — buyers at the bottom defended the range with serious money. Exchange reserves at the 99th percentile and whale volumes down 44% = nobody’s in a rush; it’s a sideways range with a floor stop.

The pattern that matters: in a high-interest-rate market, ETFs act as flow stabilizers that switch off before spot does. Don’t confuse the flow headline with the price signal — price follows volume, not headlines.
