💵 You moved into a stablecoin to step away from volatility. Did you check what you’re holding?
USD1 just gave us a reason to look beyond the price.

THE MARKET FILE — BEHIND THE DOLLAR October 19, 2026
📉 THE HEADLINE Cointelegraph, citing CoinGecko, reports that World Liberty Financial’s USD1 lost roughly $400 million in market capitalization between October 6 and 19.
That does NOT mean every holder lost 9% of their balance.
🔍 WHAT THE DATA SHOWS OnChain Benchmark tracked $385.03 million in net supply reductions on Ethereum and BNB Chain between October 6 and 15.
During that period, USD1 traded around $0.998–$1.000. The report found no sustained loss of its dollar peg.
Different dates. Different measurements. Don’t confuse supply contraction with a price crash.
📖 MY READ A stablecoin can shrink as tokens are redeemed and removed from circulation while its price stays near $1.
Redemptions alone prove neither panic nor insolvency. A calm price alone doesn’t prove everything is safe.
For anyone parking profits, I’d look at:
🔎 Reserve assets and how recent the reports are. 🔓 Who can redeem, under what conditions. 💧 Liquidity available when you need to exit.
👀 I’m watching whether supply rebuilds, whether the peg holds and what updated reserve reports show.
📱 Check $USD1’s price, then its reserve reports. A candle cannot tell the whole story.
When choosing a stablecoin, what do you check first: backing, redemption access or liquidity?
Follow THE MARKET FILE. We’ll keep looking behind the headline.
