Hamilton Lane Executive Co-Chairman Erik Hirsch said much of the wealth created by the AI boom has so far accrued in private markets, as companies stay private longer and draw on deeper pools of capital, according to Bloomberg.

Hamilton Lane has exposure to OpenAI and Anthropic through venture and growth relationships. Hirsch discussed investor access to private AI companies through funds, secondaries and co-investments, and said going public is no longer the default path for most technology companies, even as some leading AI companies move toward IPOs. He appeared on “Bloomberg Tech.”
