With such a large market cap, does that mean this much money has actually been invested?
My understanding is that market cap is simply the price multiplied by the circulating supply; it doesn’t equal the actual amount of money flowing in. When trading is thin, even a relatively small amount of money can noticeably move the market cap.
Market cap rankings are generally based on circulating market cap, and rankings change constantly with prices. A higher ranking doesn’t necessarily mean lower risk.
