IREN has signed a sponsorship agreement with Spanish football club Real Madrid, becoming its official cloud and AI partner. The parties did not disclose the terms of the deal.
In June, IREN completed its acquisition of Spanish data center developer Nostrum Group, gaining around 490 MW of secured grid capacity in the country. IREN's total energy capacity portfolio exceeds 5 GW.
The company is developing infrastructure for AI workloads while maintaining its Bitcoin mining business, with its own hashrate of around 36 EH/s.
