Today, Curve DAO (CRV) has noticeably come back to life.

At the time of writing, CRV is trading around $0.368, up about 10% on the day, with a local high of approximately $0.372.

Against the broader market, this is already a fairly strong move.

But there’s something much more interesting:

CRV’s rise currently has a fundamental reason behind it.

📈 Curve lending grew by 68%

The biggest news of the past few days is Curve’s third-quarter results.

The volume of active loans in the protocol grew from around $42.2 million to $70.9 million.

That’s:

🔥 +68% in just one quarter

And this growth happened while the DeFi lending sector as a whole was recovering far less confidently.

Most of the growth is tied to LlamaLend V2.

What is LlamaLend?

Many people still think of Curve simply as a DEX for swapping stablecoins.

USDT → USDC
USDC → DAI
and so on.

But Curve is gradually trying to become something more.

LlamaLend lets users borrow and lend directly through DeFi.

And V2 introduced a particularly interesting feature:

users can put up an asset that continues to generate yield as collateral, while also borrowing against it.

In other words, capital doesn’t have to just sit idle.

And the numbers show that people have started using it

LlamaLend V2 first launched on Optimism, then came to Ethereum.

Back in the summer, Curve reported that after V2 launched:

📈 crvUSD borrowing volume increased by 29%
📈 collateral backing these loans increased by 43%
📉 the average crvUSD borrowing rate fell from around 5.6% to 2%

Now quarterly data is showing that demand hasn’t disappeared.

Why does this matter specifically for CRV?

Because one of the main problems with many DeFi tokens is simple:

people use the protocol, but it’s unclear what the token itself is for.

With Curve, the connection is much more interesting.

CRV is used for:

🔒 governance
🗳 voting
💰 incentive distribution
⚡ the veCRV system
🏦 managing Curve and LlamaLend parameters

The more activity there is within the ecosystem, the stronger the case that CRV is more than just a speculative coin.

But after a 10% rise, I wouldn’t rush to buy

That matters.

CRV has already moved pretty quickly from around $0.33 to $0.37.

And now an interesting zone around $0.38–0.39 is coming into view.

If the price can break through it on strong volume, the market may start looking higher.

If not, profit-taking is entirely possible after today’s rise.

The nearest levels I’d be watching:

🟢 $0.38–0.39 — potential breakout to the upside

🟡 $0.34–0.35 — an area it would be good to hold

🔴 below $0.325 — would noticeably worsen the short-term outlook

What’s really interesting here?

Not today’s 10% gain.

It’s that one of DeFi’s oldest projects is once again showing growth in real usage.

In the age of memecoins, that’s easy to miss.

But Curve has been around since 2020, survived several crypto cycles, hacks, liquidity crises, and huge CRV drawdowns—and the protocol is still evolving.

If DeFi becomes a major market narrative again, older projects like:

CRV
AAVE
UNI

could come back into the spotlight.

That’s why, for now, I’d see today’s CRV move not as “the coin has already taken off,” but as a signal:

the market has started looking at Curve again.

👇 Which will CRV hit first?

🚀 $0.50

or

🩸 $0.30 again?

After a 10% gain in one day, it’ll be interesting to see how many people believe the move will continue.
