At 11:13 p.m., a DM left me stumped: “Bro, I’ve called the direction right every single time. So why is my account still in the red?”
I replied with five words: You read the market right, but yourself wrong.
₿ BTC is at 82,273, up 1.3% in 24 hours—the most dangerous kind of gain: not explosive enough to make you hold on, but not ugly enough to make you cut your losses. It rises 3%, and you fear a pullback, so you bail. It drops 3%, and you call it a shakeout, so you hold on. Ξ ETH is at 2,412. When the outlook is bullish, you go all in; when the market moves sideways, you curse the whales.
Honestly, that’s exactly how I took my account from four digits down to three digits three years ago.
Now I’m holding XAUT in my account. It’s at 4,145, and it’s only moved -0.2% in 24 hours. On the other hand, the volatility is so low that I don’t get the chance to “panic sell.” The system’s signal today was just two words: sit tight. So I’m just sitting here, drinking cold herbal tea.
Here’s the hard truth: it’s not that you’re bad at trading. You know you’re bad at it, but you refuse to admit it.
Leave a comment: are you the type who “can’t hold onto gains” or “holds on stubbornly through losses”? I’ll admit it—I’ve been both.
