Tether invests in AI chips at a $6.2 billion valuation

- Tenstorrent raised $1.5 billion in its Series E round, reaching a post-money valuation of $6.2 billion. Tether Investments joined Fidelity, Morgan Stanley, and ARK as investors.
- The funding will go toward Galaxy server clusters to support open-weight LLMs and video-generation models. The company will also license its proprietary AI and CPU IP to customers.

The issuer of USDT is expanding its asset base into computing power. This money isn’t going into the market to buy coins, so stablecoin circulation won’t see a short-term increase. BTC lacks new buying pressure, and ETH’s AI narrative won’t benefit from this round of dollar inflows either. The market is still just seeing existing funds rotate internally. If you’re holding USDT, would you keep earning yield at these levels or switch to BTC?
