Echo Protocol said it will gradually shut down the protocol and cease operations after nearly two years of development and operation. According to Foresight News, its lending service has stopped accepting new deposits and loans, and interest accrual has ended; Strategy has stopped accepting deposits, and its liquid staking service has stopped accepting new stakes. Repayments, withdrawals and necessary asset liquidations remain available.

Users can withdraw, repay loans and unstake starting October 19 at 8:00 AM, with a final deadline of November 20 at 7:59 AM. Loans not repaid by the deadline will have their collateral liquidated, with proceeds used to repay lenders. After the deadline, remaining positions will enter liquidation or settlement, with timing yet to be determined. Redemption services for the cross-chain bridge from Aptos to B² Network will remain available after the shutdown.

Echo Protocol was attacked in May 2026, when the attacker obtained administrator and minting privileges for the eBTC token contract and minted 1,000 eBTC. The team later regained control of the administrator keys and burned the attacker’s remaining 955 eBTC. In June, Echo Protocol began collecting information from users affected by an eBTC exploit on Curvance.
