Ethereum ETFs see $320M in weekly outflows led by institutional selling
U.S. spot Ethereum ETFs recorded net outflows of USD $320.1 million in recent weeks, exceeding the outflows seen in Bitcoin funds and marking their 3rd consecutive week in negative territory.
A) 93.4% of weekly withdrawals were concentrated in a single product, BlackRock’s iShares Ethereum Trust, which saw outflows of USD $299 million.
B) Persistent inflation in the U.S. and expectations that interest rates will remain elevated for longer prompted institutional portfolios to shift toward lower-risk assets.
C) Ether fell back toward the USD $2,420 level, reducing the total value held in the funds to below $15 billion.
Despite selling pressure in the spot market, differences among issuers show that funds such as Fidelity’s still attracted moderate inflows, pointing to a strategic rebalancing rather than a mass exodus from the ecosystem.
