Quick Tips: Address Poisoning
Address poisoning is when an attacker creates a fake address whose beginning and ending match an address you use often, then slips it into your transaction history.
Checking only the beginning and end of an address won’t protect you from address poisoning, because it isn’t difficult to create an address with matching first and last characters.
Before making a payment, compare the entire address. Don’t just check the beginning and end—make sure the characters in the middle match too.
Wallets that frequently send and receive stablecoins and $ETH are more likely to be targeted by address poisoning.
