On October 19, multiple market reports said JPMorgan Chase would expand its institutional deposit token JPM Coin to Ethereum, allowing institutional clients to transfer funds around the clock. These claims still await official confirmation.

My view is: even if the news is true, giving institutional payments one more access point does not directly mean increased ETH buying. According to public discussion, the token represents customers' dollar deposits, and its expected uses include on-chain payments, as well as settlement or collateral for tokenized asset trading; however, no actual usage volume on Ethereum has been disclosed yet.

On the other hand, last week U.S. spot ETH ETFs reportedly saw net outflows of about $320 million, marking three consecutive weeks of net outflows. There have been multiple retellings of these fund-flow figures, but they still need to be checked against the original statistical methodology.

What to watch next is whether the launch is officially confirmed, whether on-chain transactions continue, and whether ETF flows change. If institutional settlement volume grows but ETH does not receive corresponding capital support, will the market still count that as bullish for ETH?
