A quick update on fund flows: ETH ETF outflows were more pronounced this week.

Based on publicly reported figures (roughly for the week ending 10/16): U.S. spot ETH ETFs saw net weekly outflows of about $320 million (some sources put it at around $320.1M); over the same period, BTC ETFs saw net outflows of about $229 million (around $228.4M). Outflows on the ETH side were larger than on the BTC side—consistent with this morning’s “altcoins bleeding / ETFs turning to net outflows” narrative. But keep the figures separate; don’t lump them into “everything is seeing outflows.” Outflows were more concentrated in products from a few large issuers, and weekly numbers can fluctuate—don’t use a one-day headline to decide your position for the whole week.

Outflows don’t mean spot prices are bound to crash tomorrow, but they do suggest institutional channels were less risk-on this week. With BTC.D near its highs and stablecoin supply relatively flat, it’s no surprise that altcoins still feel rough. The old muscle memory of “ETF buying means altcoin rotation” often fails this cycle.

How I’m managing my positions: I’m not adding to directional ETH exposure on event days. If there’s a rebound, I’ll trim wishful thinking first—not add to “catch-up” trades. The relative strength of $ETH versus $BTC is better treated as something to watch this week, not a reason to go all in. When flows are cold, it’s best to simplify. Keep up with the news, but keep leverage in check.

If you want to bet on “outflows bottoming,” that’s fine too—first reduce risk until you can sleep comfortably, then think about direction.
